I'M IN A HOTEL IN LONDON - Paige Mader/Year 1

One poem made up of a series of haikus...

I'm in a Hotel in London

I’m in a hotel
In London – everyone smokes,
Today, so do I.

To feel aloneness,
Not the painful awareness,
That you are missing.

Getting over you
Is not what it used to be.
These fags are tasteless.

I am in a shop
In London, buying more fags,
Looking for something.

“Hey, you got a light?”
No, mine burned out long ago.
I wander onward.

I’m lost in London.
I’m lost everywhere I go.
I want to go home.
